My Story
I have dabbled with racing games since the Nintendo Entertainment System but in the early generations it was stuff like Excite Bike, Mario Kart, and F-Zero. As I grew older I started leaning more into the more realistic games. I still enjoy playing games like Mario Kart but the bulk of my time is in the more realistic-ish end of the racing game spectrum; not necessarily true sims but something at least seemingly realistic.
I didn't really start watching motorsports until 2008. At that time I thought about how the guys at work have sports to passionately discuss but I didn't care for ball sports and wanted something I could get into for myself. I knew I wasn't a big fan of ovals so I decided to try the world's top motorsport - Formula 1. I have since followed F1 religiously, but also diversified my viewership across a broad range of motorsports, although I still favor road courses over ovals.
Today I am a father of two wonderful, brilliant children and they are my world, so I don't have nearly as much time for personal recreation. Between the reduced amount of time racing and getting up there in my years, I feel my skills have significantly diminished. I still remain passionate about motorsport, though, despite my depleted skill.
